We had this green car since 2001 - First
car we had bough together. Twelve years later, we spent almost two thousand
dollars to fix some shop’s mistakes. Plus expensive insurance and tax, we
decided it’s time to let go.
When the buyer contacted me, I thought he
was mistaken because he had to drive a hour to look at our car. We talked about
the car and he tested drive. And then, we agreed on the price. He said he will be
back next day with a casher check. I asked if he could leave a little cash as
deposit but he said he doesn’t have cash with him.
Oh, well, I told him I’d pull down the ad for
him, just a day.
When we were with the buyer, I felt a wave
of sadness crossing me. I looked my darling and knew it was from him. We know
we want to do this. But when it happened, we were so not prepared. On the way
home, we talked about it and assure that’s we want to do.
Next day, the buyer didn’t contact me. I
started wondering this is not going to happen. At evening, I received a called
from him to let me know that he is about half way here.
We gave him documents and keys. He gave us
the casher check. Well, the problem was all the banks were closed. No way we were
be able to confirm the casher check is “real” check. The buyer understood our concerns
and agreed to let us copy down his ID.
I posted the ad on-line and our car was
sold in a day. I did not expect it at all. However, I think this happened for a
reason. The buyer told us he has been looking for a car about a month now. His son
moved back to live with him and he needs a car to find a job. I can see the
buyer’s need and I know that our car will do a great job for him.
Good bye our Toyota. I hope your new owner
will love you and you will have a long life.
